#7 Plum Blossom is often the second of the 10 Core Forms that most students learn. Mei Hua or “Plum Blossom” is more difficult than #6 Short Striking the first form Northern Shaolin students usually learn. Mei Hua has two Tornado Kicks and One Flying Double Toe Kick as well as two ground sweeps. A favorite of many is the “Defeating an Ambush” sequence, which as the name suggests, is great if many attackers surround you!

Northern Shaolin Kung Fu #7, Plum Blossom, is the perhaps the most beautiful of the 10 Core Forms because of its balanced pattern, opening movements and general choreography. It has high kicks, Flying Toe Kicks and a Tornado Kick, and two low ground sweeps. Mei Hua also challenges your balance with its Crane stances and balance moves.
